Socialcam Tips for Small Companies
Many large companies have found success using video-sharing apps like Socialcam because it gives viewers a quick peek into the company’s culture and encourages interaction. “Small businesses can also create conversations around their brand by emulating the core techniques these leading brands have established,” says Socialcam CEO Michael Seibel. He reveals how in this recent article.
Socialcam is a free video-sharing app that allows users to add visual effects, filters and music to the footage. Unlike its popular competitor Viddy, there’s no limit to the length of the video.
Seibel offers the following suggestions to increase reach through Socialcam:
1. Post frequently
“Socialcam is one place where it’s quantity over quality,” says Seibel. While you should never release a video that is extremely poor quality, he suggests creating multiple videos of average quality rather than one perfect, high-quality video. Aim to post two or three entertaining videos each week.
2. Repurpose content
If you don’t have the means to create fresh content regularly—after all, you are trying to get a few posts a week up—try putting a different spin on existing content. A popular blog might make a great short video. Or tease a full interview by creating a bite-sized video.
3. Engage your viewers
Encourage your viewers to participate in a discussion by asking questions during the video. Interact with the viewers by commenting on their posts and answering questions or concerns. Add a personal touch and be genuine. People are loyal to brands they trust.
